Pure Drawing

Group Exhibition | Co-curated with Camila Vasquez

“Drawing is the most democratic medium because it can be practiced anywhere, on various surfaces, and with minimal resources.”

— Manon Tourigny, exhibition catalog

Pur dessin is an exhibition that aims to showcase the vibrant diversity of practices that use drawing as a process, tool, medium, or mode of expression. We embraced abundance: Pur dessin features more than 200 pieces, including sketches, diagrams, studies, and completed works created by videographers, painters, performance artists, illustrators, sculptors, and more. The exhibition layout was designed to highlight the multiplicity of forms of the displayed works. Inspired by certain avant-garde exhibitions that reimagined spatial presentation, our approach invites the public to adopt a dynamic attitude of wandering rather than passive contemplation.
